With time there have been so many threats regarding our precious things. Firstly it was the data, then our money and then our other things. Yes, I am talking about the risks that people face each and every day. The risk of getting technically mobbed or leaking the information. We have seen such a drastic change in the surrounding when it comes to the protection of a person’s precious things as well as their identities. With so many chips around us, there is soon going to be an E- chip passport in India. Did that sound strange? Yeah, it sounded that to me as well. So let us get a better insight into this thing.

What exactly is E-Chip Passport?

You might have seen a chip card that is embedded in your debit or credit card? Have you? That is done to keep your transactions safer and no one would be able to crack that chip. Similarly, the Indian government has kept this proposition in front of the officials that passport is one of the most important identity holders of the person. So it is very important for you to keep it safe. And according to them embedding a chip in the passport will make it safer. And due to this, the Indian e chip passport is a hot topic for people here.

According to the officials, it is seen that the electronic chip in the passport will also bear all the information same to same that is given or printed in the data page of your passport. But to increase the security of your identity these chips are going to also sustain the biometric of the cardholder. Just like the Adhaar Card.

How are these chip-embedded passports going to work?

It has already been approved by the government officials and a prototy pe is getting developed. The officials are looking into this matter and they have been working on this three-way tender about the E-Chip passport.

It is been said that the International civil aviation department of the country is taking a good look at the prototype of the passport and trying to make it flawless. The E-chip passports are already on cards and in the near future, they are going to be circulated amongst all those who are already holding a passport.

The chip will be embedded in the back of the passport and it would be 64 kilobytes of storage space. According to sources, it is said that initially, the information about the last 30 visits of the person will only be present there. And with time if the officials see success in these passports, they will then include a photograph as well as fingerprints of all the holders. You just need to get the E chip passport online registration and follow the procedure that a normal passport has.

How did they get this Idea?

If you are also getting the question in your head then let me tell you, according to a source it is said that the E-chip passport theory was developed and started in IIT, Kanpur, National Informatics Centre (NIC), and ISP. They have kept this proposition where they are going to introduce the E-Chip holding all the information about the cardholder. There is no change in the ways to fill the form of the passport. You will have to follow the same old rules to get the Indian e chip passport online. Even if you need to get a renewal you will have to register online and then get it done.

Why is something like this coming into existence?

The lone existence of this kind of a passport is to increase the security of your personal information. A passport is one of the most important documents of a person and if it gets misplaced you might be in a serious problem. But this is not going to happen. The E-chip will provide extra added benefits to the cardholder.

Moreover, even if you lose your passport, none of your information will be shown to any other person.  No one can change or steal your identity. And even if the e-passport chip gets broken, you can simply register the complaint and get yourself a new passport.
